Original Commission

the story...

Do numbers bore you?

This series of six panels was created especially for a professional accountant.  Our early discussions determined the theme of the work, and my client was clear that she wanted tax form numbers.

Creating something interesting and inspiring for her office space was a challenge to be met!

There can be much beauty and sophistication - even in numbers - and in things right before our eyes.  Shredded paper, playing cards, a braille elevator button, rice, frayed fabric - these mundane items provided whimsy for each number.

Revealing the artwork with friends and family present was a great memory for all.

Original Giclee Print

the story...

Do you wish you could be at the ocean, and take a deep breath of fresh air?

The images in this original print are from Perkin's Cove, Maine - a gorgeous coastal place on the Atlantic Ocean.  This brings back fond memories of a fantastic weekend away, and a walk on the majestic "Marginal Way".

This artwork resonated with my clients, since Perkin's Cove is a place they love to be, and are now able to enjoy those memories when they're at home.

Original Artwork

the story...

Who has been an inspiration to you? Is there someone who has shared their talents with you and made a lasting impression on you?

My aunt Lorene was skilled with her hands. She sewed, crocheted, and did painstaking detail work that, if she were to do it today, would be revered. She created the delicate snowflakes that I scanned and used in this piece, which is a tribute to her. The Canadian Air Force pin shown on her dress was from her fiancé which is stitched in silver thread through this canvas.

The black and white photo is of me as a little girl with my aunt Lorene and a baby cousin.
